ABOUT MADI
Madi Morris is a Sports Multimedia Journalist and Reporter who spent 7 years working in the multimedia departments at two NCAA Division 1 athletic conference offices. At both the Southland Conference and Conference USA, she was the main video content creator, producing videos from ideation to realization, for the official conference website, television partners, member institutions and various social media channels. She has not only contributed behind the scenes, but has also served as the on-camera personality for all conference-produced videos, media day events (both in person and virtually) and filled in on ESPN+ broadcasts as color analyst/sideline reporter during championship events.
During her time at C-USA, she routinely traveled to all 14-member institutions collecting content for feature stories and other daily video content distributed on the conference’s social media platforms. She also served as a sideline reporter during Conference USA athletic events for various television partners including ESPN3, Stadium, American Sports Network and beIN.
A 2015 graduate from the University of Missouri, Morris earned her bachelor’s degree in Radio-Television Journalism from the Missouri School of Journalism with minors in Spanish and Sociology. While a student, Morris served three years as a reporter, anchor and producer at the NBC affiliate TV station, KOMU 8, in Columbia, Missouri. She also worked as a general assignment reporter for the local NPR station, KBIA 91.3 FM and as a sports intern for KCCI Channel 8 in her hometown of Des Moines, Iowa.
Southland Conference
Director of Broadcast and Digital Media August 2019- July 2022
· Wrote, shot, voiced and edited all organic video content, from ideation to realization, for the official conference website, television partners, member institutions and various social media channels
· Traveled to the conference’s member institutions or reached out via zoom and utilized my network relationships to conduct interviews and engage with student-athletes, coaches and administrators for feature stories and other daily video content
· Served as the on-camera personality for all conference-produced videos, media day events (both in person and virtually) and filled in on ESPN+ broadcasts as color analyst/sideline reporter during championship events
· Served as the main manager of the conference’s various social media platforms and oversaw the overall creation and implementation of the league’s social media strategy
· Oversaw the ESPN+ live streams and served as an administrator on-site at conference championship events; edited and produced recaps and additional video content for the website and social media
· Worked with member schools’ athletic communications staffs to come up with storylines and other important information to give to television talent for football, basketball and other Olympic sports broadcasts
· Served as the liaison between the Southland conference office, the member institutions’ video producers and ESPN regarding production for football, basketball and other live sporting events on ESPN’s digital platforms
· Managed a conference-specific Twitter account and engaged with fans, student-athletes and coaches
· Produced two separate 90 minute basketball preseason shows for ESPN’s digital platforms after traveling to all 13 member institutions conducting interviews with basketball coaches and student-athletes

· Created content for and contributed to the overall C-USA social media strategy, posting to various digital/social/mobile platforms as necessary while collaborating with marketing, sponsorship and other staff

· Researched and wrote scripts for C-USA Showcase, a weekly 30-minute television show aired nationally on Fox Sports
· Hosted the C-USA Showcase as well as other C-USA.TV feature programming, filmed inside the C-USA Studio
· Served as the multimedia lead for specific conference-wide social media initiatives such as National Girls and Women in Sports Day
· Served as the content creator and sole manager for the C-USA Student Athlete Advisory Committee twitter account
· Assisted in the management/mentorship of multimedia interns and recruited/supervised various volunteer teams at league events and championships
